Tate Boys Has All Your Tire Service Needs Covered

Tires are one of the most important components of your vehicle. Although this might sound like an exaggeration, it's quite true. This is because your tires are the only components of your vehicle to actually come into contact with the road. Your vehicle’s steering, braking, and acceleration inputs are all translated through your tires to the road.

Failing to maintain your tires is not only a costly mistake that can shorten the life of your tires and require you to replace them prematurely, but it is also a matter of safety. In emergency situations, where sudden braking or steering inputs are needed, poor tire health can inevitably lead to a blowout, skidding, or even a collision.

At Tate Boys, we provide expert tire services and can handle all of your auto-related needs. Whether you need a flat tire repaired, your wheels aligned, or a new set of tires, you've come to the right place. Request a quote today with Tate Boys, and let the tire experts handle all of your automotive needs.

Trusted Tire Services for All Makes and Models

There are so many different components on a vehicle that sometimes it can be hard to know exactly how to best care for your car. Because tires can't tell you when something is wrong, it can be difficult to know exactly what your tires need or when they need to be serviced. If your vehicle is pulling to one side, your tire pressure light is on, or your vehicle just doesn't seem to grip the road like it used to, you may have tire-related issues.

Whether you know exactly what's wrong with your vehicle or you're not quite sure, our ASE-certified mechanics can diagnose and perform all of the tire repair or replacement services that your vehicle will need throughout its lifetime.

Here’s a quick look at some of the most common tire services that we provide:

Tire Repair

A flat or leaking tire doesn't always mean that you need tire replacement – sometimes, tire problems can be fixed. Two of the most common types of tire repair that we provide are tire patches and valve stem repairs.

Tire Patch

If you run over a nail or other type of debris that punctures your tire, you may be eligible for a tire patch. In this case, one of our ASE-certified mechanics will install a rubber plug into the puncture of your tire to ensure that your tire will once again be able to hold air. If performed properly, a tire patch will not need to be replaced again and will last for the life of your tire. However, not every type of puncture in your tire can be patched.

Here are the types of tire damage that cannot be repaired:

  • A puncture or damage to your sidewall
  • A tear or slice in your tire
  • A blown-out tire
  • Uneven tread

Valve Stem Repair

There are times when a slow-leaking tire can be attributed to a leaking valve stem. Because the valve stem of your tire is the access point where air is added to your tire, it protrudes from the side of your wheel. This anatomy makes your valve stem more susceptible to damage if you hit a curb or a pothole. If one of our mechanics determines that your valve stem is leaking, we may be able to perform a valve stem repair so that your tire can once again hold air.

Tire Balancing

Tire balancing involves putting tiny weights onto the side of your wheel to avoid vibration once your vehicle reaches driving speed. This is done because tiny weight imperfections that occur during the manufacturing process of your tires become evident once the tires start rotating at higher speeds. If your vehicle is vibrating when you reach driving speeds, you may need tire balancing.

Tire Rotation

A tire rotation service is often necessary to extend the life of your tires. Various factors, such as weight distribution and drive configuration, can cause your tires to wear unevenly. For example, many front-wheel drive cars are heavier in the front than in the rear. This is because the engine, transmission, and drivetrain components are all located up front, which causes more stress on the front tires. Rotating your tires regularly helps them wear evenly throughout their lifetime and prevents two tires from wearing prematurely.

Tire Alignment

If your vehicle is pulling to one side or needs constant correction to drive in a straight line, you may need a tire alignment. Often referred to as a “wheel alignment,” this service involves hooking your vehicle up to a machine and measuring the camber and toe of your vehicle. One of our mechanics will make slight adjustments to all four of your wheels to ensure that they point perfectly straight.

High-speed maneuvers, potholes, vibration, and everyday use can cause your wheels to ever so slightly become misaligned. While this may sound like a very minor problem, misaligned wheels can negatively affect your tires and cause them to wear unevenly, while also negatively affecting your suspension, performance, and fuel economy.

If you notice that your vehicle is pulling to one side, we encourage you to contact us and allow our experts to get your vehicle traveling in a straight line once again.
